Our Goals
Our first goal is to disseminate the fact that, contrary to much publicity and propaganda to the contrary, the prostate-specific antigen (PSA) test is useless as a guide to the diagnosis and treatment of the overwhelming majority of men with prostate cancer. In fact, there is no evidence that PSA-based diagnosis make any difference in either short-term or long-term patient survival.
Our second goal is to acquire funding for research towards finding a better biomarker to identify the truly virulent form of prostate cancer--which is a tiny minority of the prostate cancers that are currently being detected. Currently, the vast majority of cases are being misdiagnosed and maltreated--with irreparable harm to the quality of life of men worldwide.
